Carp Fishing Tackle Review: The Fox Stratos 12000e FS Reel

With such a variety of fish species available to anglers in the UK, you may wonder why so many of us choose to stalk the carp. All you have to do is some brief research on this dignified fish and you’ll find out that so many different cultures admire it. The truth is, a lot of the Asain peoples deem the carp as sacred. If you have encountered having one of these energetic fish on your fishing line, then surely you can understand why! In my attempt to outmanoeuvre the crafty carp, I’ve collected a considerable amount of carp fishing tackle. The Fox Stratos 12000e FS reel happens to be one of my most preferred. Here's why.

Designed with Fox’s trustworthy free spool system, the 12000e boasts 16 ball bearings plus an extra large roller bearing for faultless execution, even when you have hooked a large fish. Its graphite body boast an innovative style, and the reel has a weight of 810g. The 12000e FS has got one single handle and the spool is manufactured with a hard-wearing alloy substance. It has both a standard and a continental spool.

I am especially partial to the 12000’s slow oscillation, a factor that will ensure that this line coils precisely around the spool. This means less friction during the cast, which in turn enhances distance and accuracy. It has a twist-free roller, and the clutch is made with a grit guard to assist in optimising overall performance. The unique Mesh-Tech™ gearing system delivers flawless operation. In addition, it has an anti-backlash system along with a micro line lay adjustment. The clutch boasts six discs, and its Magnetik™ lube system keeps the reel operating smoothly. The 12000e's gear ratio is 4.2:1, and the reel has two shims. The Fox FS (free spool) system instantly disengages the spool from the main drive, smoothly giving line to a carp that's running fast. A micro-adjustment lets the fisherman tweak the tension. A range casting clip rounds out the list of features. Expect the cost to be approximately 149 for this superb piece of fishing tackle.

Since I wondered about a few of the aspects of this fishing reel, so I read some information on it. The thing I learned was that having an oversized roller bearing is a critical component in any type reel’s potency. The 12000e’s roller bearing has 8 wide diameter stainless steel rollers enclosed in a really strong glass filled nylon casing. Getting strength from two very large stainless steel ball bearings, the roller bearing will provide the 12000e with a superb feel that makes retrieves very easy.
